Three ways to get your cattle home
You collect
Bring a trailer to Rochelle. No freight cost, and you get to look at the herd. Most buyers within a few hours of Central Texas do this.
We arrange a hauler
We book a bonded, insured livestock hauler. This is how most out-of-state animals travel, and the cost is shown at checkout before you pay.
You arrange your own
Send us your hauler's details and we will coordinate loading with them directly.

What freight costs, and where we go
Freight is calculated automatically at checkout from your delivery address, so you see the cost before you pay rather than after. Nothing is added later.
Livestock freight is priced by distance, how many head are moving, and how full the truck is. A single animal costs far more per head than four travelling together, which is worth knowing if you are building a herd — the saving on freight often covers a good part of the extra animal.

How cattle actually travel
Cattle move in gooseneck or semi livestock trailers with slatted sides for airflow and a floor that gives them grip. Stocking density matters more than most buyers realise — animals need enough room to stand comfortably and brace against movement, but not so much that they are thrown around on corners.
Loading is where most stress happens, so we load quietly, in the cool of the day where we can, and we do not rush an animal up a ramp. A cow that walks on calmly generally travels calmly.
Heat is the main risk on a Texas summer run. Airflow depends on the truck moving, so long stops in still air are worse than driving. We will delay a load rather than ship an animal into a heat event.
Welfare and rules
Paperwork and standards
Cattle crossing state lines travel with a certificate of veterinary inspection, and destination states set their own entry requirements — testing, identification and permits all differ. The current rules are published by USDA APHIS.
We arrange all of it. We book the vet, obtain the certificate, and organise any testing your destination state requires. The cost is passed on at exactly what the vet charges us with nothing added. If an animal fails a required test, the sale is cancelled and you are refunded in full, deposit included.
The haulers we use observe required rest and watering intervals. We do not load an animal that is unfit to travel — one that arrives stressed is worth less to you and reflects on us.
At your end
Getting ready for arrival
- A pen or small trap separate from your existing herd, with shade and clean water
- Vehicle access a stock trailer can actually reach — check the gate width and the turning space
- Someone present at the delivery window to take the animal off
- Hay available; a travelled animal often will not eat much on day one
- Two to three weeks of quarantine before mixing with your herd — long enough for anything to show itself, and long enough for her to settle

Delivery questions
Do you deliver to Hawaii or Alaska?
No. We ship to the 48 contiguous states only.
Can I combine several animals on one load?
Yes, and you should — freight per head drops substantially. If you are buying more than one, tell us before we book.
What happens if an animal is injured in transit?
The haulers we use are bonded and carry insurance covering the animals they move. If something happens in transit we deal with the hauler and their insurer on your behalf — you should not be chasing a trucking company you never hired. Tell us straight away and send photographs.
